Dark Tide

Written by Me

early morning rolls around
tears of owls are safe and sound
the deepest void, a starry scene
they scatter, few and far between
shades of grey drop in the light
releasing frames of sounds and sight
darkness binds the limbs of few
colorless, the morning dew
foggy, like an old man's eyes
a stealthy death is no surprise
a ripple in a swollen sea
the old man drops down to his knee
only death can reach him now

a bouncing pace; the theme is set
strings are broken at the fret
travel far by tide of moon
yet hurry home, fore the noon
clap me, in the court may old
in cells of rock may i grow old
dusty gleam of light have shone
i fear too high i may have flown
now plummet to the open sea
for aft the noon, dead is me
