Maiden of Water

Watching my maiden
In a mute pastel light.
She knows I'm waiting,
Waiting till the time is right.

Misted with purple,
Beaming rays of light.
I see a pathway
Cobbled with blue stone.

Laurel lined walks,
Emerald guided bends.
Her presence has left
A cool, splashing rain.

I see her river
Running through the plain.
I add my share, too.
Crying out in pain.

Why must she walk so?
It incites a cresting wave
In me.
Her heart in my hands, yet I'm alone.

Bending with the trees,
Then snapping like a twig.
She simply stares back -
Just a sight.
